This week, Rebecca traded the office for the Cayman Islands to explore some new business opportunities and connect with industry leaders.
The trip kicked off at the RISA reception’s rum and wine tasting, which was the perfect icebreaker before she attended the NAFER conference dinner. The event was packed with familiar faces – including many partners and contacts she had only ever met through a screen. Getting to finally turn those digital connections into face-to-face handshakes was a real highlight.
The networking was excellent, filled with catching up with old friends and starting some very interesting conversations with new ones. While the Cayman Islands may be small geographically, the sheer energy of the people there makes the business community feel enormous.
In an unexpected twist, she also discovered a lively community of Aston Villa fans on the island. She even ended up joining a crowd to watch a match, an experience she never quite envisioned when flying halfway across the world.
It was a fantastic and very productive trip, blending high-level networking and industry insights with just enough beach time to leave the rest of the team back home feeling a little bit jealous.
