October has been a great month for memberships! Saltwhistle’s CEO Rebecca was invited to attend BExA’s Regional Industry Committee Meeting hosted at the Rolls-Royce Heritage Centre in Derby. This networking lunch was full of vibrant and incredible people with expertise in the current exporting environment and the conversation covered everything from export finance to the practical realities of selling into new markets.
BExA, the British Exporters Association, is an independent national trade association representing the interests of the UK’s exporters. It has been around since 1940, and today it helps UK exporters succeed in global markets by promoting their commercial interests, influencing and shaping policy on their behalf, facilitating valuable networks and connections, and providing expert export support.
With international business development at the heart of what Saltwhistle does, talking to people with a detailed understanding of this area is extremely useful. Many of the professional services firms we work with advise clients who trade across borders, and understanding the challenges our own SME clients face helps us shape sharper, more relevant growth strategies and content.
So we have decided to become members of BExA! We’re looking forward to getting involved, meeting more of the membership and bringing what we learn back to our clients.
